One of the most common issues with buying vintage cameras is that more often than not, the light meter (if it even has one) does not work or is incredibly unreliable.

There are many options for metering light for analogue photography. I personally have a Sekonic L-558 Dual Light Master. I also have the app myLightMeter Pro installed on my iPhone. When I want accurate and detailed metering, I reach for my Sekonic.

Both of these options, for me anyway, tend to pull me out of the experience of shooting analogue. It interrupts my flow.

I wanted a light meter that would sit in the cold shoe of the camera I was using so I could maintain a hands-on experience.

There are multiple light meters on the market that sit in the cold shoe of your camera. I came across this one on YouTube by TTArtisan. They’re a Chinese company that make all sorts of photography equipment and I own a few of their camera lenses.

I picked it up on Amazon Mexico for $1448.18 mxn (about $86 usd).
